Rice and Peas

1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 clove minced garlic
1 c. frozen peas
2 c. cooked long grain rice
1- 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1/4 c. grated cheese
salt, pepper, hot pepper flakes, onion and garlic powder to taste.

I like to season each time I add an ingredient.

Heat butter and oil in a medium pot; add onion and some seasoning then garlic. Cook about 3-4 minutes until onions and garlic are soft.

Stir in peas and more seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes until peas are cooked through. Add tomato sauce and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes; stir in rice and more seasoning if needed. 

Once everything is incorporated add grated cheese.

This is so good and is really a meal in itself!
