Almond Butter Crescents

1/2 lb. softened butter

1 c. granulated sugar

16 oz. ground, unblanched almonds

1 egg, slightly beaten

2 c. sifted flour

1 c. powdered sugar for dusting

1 tbsp. cinnamon for dusting

Cream butter and sugar. Add almonds and egg; mix until well blended. Add flour, a little at a time, until everything is incorporated. Chill dough for several hours or overnight.

Preheat oven 350 F.

Form dough into 2 1/2 inch strips, about the same thickness of your pinky. Form into a crescent shape and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes and cool slightly. Mix powdered sugar and cinnamon. Dust cookies with sugar and cinnamon while warm, then again before serving.

Almond Butter Crescents are my husband's favorite and have been part of our Christmas cookie repertoire for decades!
